Remote Jobs in Dallas, TX 2026: Latest Remote Vacancies, Requirements, Salary and How to Apply Online

If you live in Dallas and want to work from home, run three separate searches: Dallas, Texas, and US-wide remote. A Dallas-only search misses jobs that accept any Texas resident but name no city, and many national remote jobs accept anyone in certain time zones. The other lesson from our check on 4 November 2026 is speed. Three UnitedHealth Group and Optum remote jobs listed under Dallas in late October had already disappeared a week later. So the skill that matters most is not finding a listing, but confirming it is still open before you spend an evening on the application.

Why Remote Jobs in Dallas Disappear So Fast

A popular remote customer service job can get hundreds of applications in days, and employers often close it early. Of the four remote roles named in our original brief, three, all UnitedHealth Group or Optum postings for customer support, billing and senior customer service, returned an error page when we checked. They were real, but they are gone. That is normal, not a scam warning. It simply means:

  • Apply within a day or two of a posting appearing
  • Check the employer's own page is live before you write a cover letter
  • Save searches and alerts rather than individual links

A Real Statewide Example: Foundever Texas

Foundever's Remote Licensed Customer Service Representative role recruits across Texas, so a Dallas resident qualifies without the city ever being named. You handle insurance calls about coverage, policy changes and billing, and only billing calls until your Texas licence arrives. Foundever pays for the licensing process. It asks for:

  • Age 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED
  • One to two years of relevant work experience, which is required
  • Your own computer or tablet, with a headset shipped after you pass the state exam
  • A quiet space, with webcam presence during training and work

Pay is $19 an hour, with paid training at $17 to $18. The word "licensed" in the title can put people off, but the description explains that Foundever supports the licensing step. Official board: Foundever Jobs, search "Texas".

Searching Big Employers Like UnitedHealth Group

Large health insurers and healthcare companies are among the biggest remote employers for Texans, but their search tools can mislead. When we searched UnitedHealth Group's careers site for remote customer service jobs with Dallas as the location, the first results included roles in Maine, Massachusetts and even India. So:

  1. Open each result and read its location and work arrangement, not just the title.
  2. Look for phrases like "nationally remote within the United States" or a list of accepted time zones. Dallas is in the Central time zone.
  3. Use the requisition number to find the exact job again, because similar titles often have different shifts.

Remote Jobs in Dallas for Beginners

For a first remote job, look for a task you can already show. Someone who ran a school fundraiser may have answered questions, tracked orders and chased a missing payment. Someone who helped in a family shop may have handled returns. Say where you did it and whether it was paid. That tells a hiring manager more than "excellent communication skills".

Read required and preferred qualifications separately. If a job requires a year of medical billing and you have none, move on. If customer service experience is only preferred, lead with your best example. For written support roles, prepare a short reply to an imaginary customer whose order is late, showing how you would check its status without promising a date you cannot confirm.

Remote Jobs in Dallas: Salary Per Month

Using Foundever's published rates at 40 paid hours a week (hourly rate × 40 × 52 ÷ 12), before tax:

  • $17 an hour (training, lower rate): about $2,947 a month
  • $18 an hour (training, upper rate): about $3,120 a month
  • $19 an hour (regular role): about $3,293 a month

These are comparisons, not a Dallas average or a promise about your first paycheck. At $19 for 25 hours a week, the same formula gives about $2,058 a month, so a higher rate with fewer hours can pay less. Texas has no state income tax, but federal tax and other deductions still apply. Ask how long training lasts, what schedule follows and whether bonuses are guaranteed.

How to Get Remote Jobs in Dallas Online

  1. Decide what you can accept: available days, earliest start, minimum paid hours, and whether you can travel for training. Convert Eastern or Pacific shifts into Dallas time.
  2. Check the home-office rules: equipment, internet connection, privacy and webcam requirements.
  3. Tailor your resume: for billing, show how you found or fixed an error; for phone support, how you explained something complicated.
  4. Apply fast and keep records: save the title, requisition number, pay, date and confirmation.
  5. Use the interview to check the reality: "After training, what would a typical Tuesday look like for someone working from Dallas?"

Work-From-Home Job Scams to Avoid

An offer to send you a check for office equipment can sound reasonable when a job really needs a computer and headset. The Federal Trade Commission warns that fake employers use exactly this to make applicants send money back or pay a "supplier". Never make that payment. Find the employer's site yourself and check the job number there, not through contact details in the message.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a Dallas address in a listing mean I must commute?

Not always. Many listings name Dallas as a hiring location for roles that are remote across the US. Read the work arrangement in each posting.

Why did a Dallas remote job disappear before I applied?

Popular remote roles often close within days. Apply early and confirm the posting is live on the employer's own site.

Can I apply without call centre experience?

Where experience is only preferred, yes. Foundever's Texas insurance role requires one to two years, so look for postings that say "preferred".

How much do remote jobs in Dallas pay per month?

At Foundever's $19 an hour, about $3,293 a month for 40 hours before tax.

Do I pay state income tax on remote work in Texas?

Texas has no state income tax, though federal tax still applies.

Bottom Line

Search Dallas, Texas and US-wide separately, apply quickly, and confirm each job is still open on the employer's own page. Then check where training happens, how many hours are paid and which shift you would work before you accept.
