CARFAX Technology Jobs in the US 2026: Remote, Hybrid, Salary and How to Apply

CARFAX Technology Jobs in the US 2026: Remote, Hybrid, Salary and How to Apply

If you are hoping for a fully remote technology job at CARFAX, know this first: none of the US technology postings we checked on 4 November 2026 was fully remote. The closest is a senior product manager role whose location field mentions remote work in the United States, but whose description says it is a hybrid role, with office attendance set by location. The other technology openings ask for office days: four a week for an engineering manager in Columbia, Missouri, and three a week for a paid intern in Reston, Virginia. This guide explains each role, what it pays, who can apply, and how to tell a genuine CARFAX opening from a scam.

What CARFAX Is Hiring For in Technology

CARFAX lists all its openings on one official board, sorted by department and location. On the day we checked, the technology and data roles were split between three places: Centreville in Virginia, Columbia in Missouri, and London and Toronto in Canada. That split matters. A search for "CARFAX software engineer" will show you several London, Ontario roles, and their salaries and work rules are Canadian, not American. If you live in the US, filter by country before you compare anything. Official board: CARFAX Careers.

1. Senior Product Manager, GTM Systems (Sales and Service)

This is the role behind most "CARFAX remote" searches. It looks after the internal tools that CARFAX's sales, account management and support teams use every day, which means Salesforce and related go-to-market technology such as Marketo. CARFAX asks for:

  • At least six years of product management experience, including owning enterprise or internal-facing products
  • Experience with tools that support pipeline, forecasting and territory management; Salesforce certifications are a plus
  • As a bonus, experience applying AI to internal workflows such as intake, triage or recommendations

Two lines in the posting decide whether you should apply at all. First: "This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations determined by location." So "remote" in the location field does not mean you can skip the office everywhere. Second: the job is open only to people already authorised to work in the United States who will not need sponsorship now or in the future. If you are outside the US, or on a visa that needs an employer sponsor, this role is closed to you.

2. Manager, Software Engineering, Columbia, Missouri

This post needs four days a week in the Columbia office, so treat it as an office job with one home day. It asks for at least two years leading software engineering teams using Agile, plus a computer science degree or equivalent work experience. CARFAX lists 401(k) matching, an annual bonus programme and a dog-friendly office among the benefits. There is a separately listed engineering manager post in London, Ontario; make sure you apply to the one in your country.

3. Project Management Intern, Summer 2027

The board header says Centreville, but the description is clear: you must be able to commute to the Reston, Virginia office three days a week. It is for rising college juniors and seniors working towards a business or technical bachelor's degree. Familiarity with Agile and the PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) are listed as preferences, not requirements. It pays $23 to $29 an hour.

Salary: What These Jobs Pay Per Month

CARFAX publishes ranges, which makes comparison easier. Converted to a monthly figure before tax:

  • Senior Product Manager: $123,000 to $185,000 a year base, about $10,250 to $15,417 a month
  • Project Management Intern: $23 to $29 an hour; 160 paid hours would be $3,680 to $4,640

Treat those numbers carefully. The product range is base salary for a senior hire, and CARFAX sets the actual figure by location, experience and qualifications; it is not a guide to beginner pay. The internship figure assumes 160 hours, which the posting does not promise for every month, and an internship lasts one summer. If you are comparing it with a part-time job, compare the real weekly hours and the cost of commuting to Reston three days a week.

Is There a CARFAX Technology Job for Beginners?

For most beginners, honestly, no. The product and management roles need years of experience. The internship is the one real entry point, and it suits only a student who fits the "rising junior or senior" description and can reach Reston. If you are not in college or cannot commute, do not build your plans around it.

If you are a student, show project experience the way a project manager would. "Took notes in group meetings" says little. "Kept the task list for a four-person class project, chased two overdue sections and moved the deadline with the lecturer's agreement" shows planning, follow-up and judgement. Label it clearly as coursework, not employment.

If you are not a student, search other employers for genuinely junior remote roles: "junior application support", "QA analyst I" or "technical support trainee", with the country filter set to the US. Read each one's location line, because many "remote" junior roles are restricted to particular states.

How to Apply to CARFAX Online

  1. Start on the official board. Open the posting from CARFAX's own careers site, not a copy on another site, and save its title and location.
  2. Settle the location question first. If the wording is unclear, ask in writing before you invest in a cover letter: "I live in Ohio and cannot commute to Virginia. Would this role require office days for me?"
  3. Tailor the resume to the work. For the GTM product role, describe one internal tool or workflow you improved, who used it and how you measured the result. For the engineering manager role, describe one technical decision your team made under your lead and how you knew it worked.
  4. Apply through the posting's own Apply button and keep the confirmation email.
  5. Set a job alert on the CARFAX board for your category and location if nothing fits today. An alert is not an application, so keep a separate note of what you have actually applied for.

Do not assume an interview format. The postings we read do not describe CARFAX's interview stages, so be wary of anyone who claims to know them in detail.

Work-From-Home Job Scams to Avoid

Fake "remote" jobs often borrow the name of a well-known company. A common version: a "recruiter" sends you a check to buy a laptop from an "approved supplier", and the check later bounces after you have paid. The Federal Trade Commission's rule is simple: honest employers will never ask you to pay to get a job, and anyone who does is a scammer. If you receive an offer that mentions CARFAX, find the job yourself on the official board, and never send money, gift cards or crypto to start work.

Keep Track of What You Learn

A short spreadsheet makes a remote job search smarter. Record the date, link, office requirement, salary and currency for each role. If most of your rejected leads turn out to need office days, change your search filters rather than rewriting your resume. If several suitable roles ask for the same missing skill, such as Salesforce administration, build one small project that shows it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the CARFAX senior product manager job fully remote?

No. The posting calls it a hybrid role with in-office expectations by location, even though "remote" appears in the location field. Ask whether your address qualifies.

Can I apply to CARFAX from Pakistan or another country?

Not for the US product role: it requires existing US work authorisation and will not sponsor a visa now or in the future.

How much does a CARFAX senior product manager earn?

The advertised base range is $123,000 to $185,000 a year, roughly $10,250 to $15,417 a month before tax.

Does the CARFAX internship pay?

Yes, $23 to $29 an hour, with three office days a week in Reston, Virginia.

What if a CARFAX posting has closed?

Check the official board for a replacement and set an alert. An old salary range or saved link does not prove a current vacancy.

Bottom Line

If you need a fully home-based job, CARFAX's current US technology roles are not it, so confirm the office arrangement in writing before applying. If hybrid work suits you, pick the posting whose location, experience and pay match your situation, and apply only through the official board.
